How to Remove Background Noise in CapCut (Desktop and Mobile)

CapCut has a built-in noise reduction switch. It handles steady hiss well, but struggles with wind, traffic and voices in the background.

Reduce noise in CapCut

  1. Desktop: click the clip on the timeline, open the Audio tab on the right, and turn on Reduce noise.
  2. Mobile: tap the clip, scroll the bottom toolbar and tap Reduce noise (some versions call it Noise reduction), then switch it on.
  3. Play the clip back with headphones. If the voice starts to sound watery, turn the effect off for that clip.
  4. Export as usual.

Tips

Still hearing noise?

If you can still hear wind, traffic or chatter, export the video without music, clean it in Denoiso, then bring it back into CapCut. You hear a free 30-second preview before you pay.
