How to Remove Background Noise in DaVinci Resolve
DaVinci Resolve has two tools: the Noise Reduction effect on the Fairlight page (free version) and Voice Isolation (Studio version only).
Noise Reduction in the free version
- Go to the Fairlight page and open the Effects Library.
- Under Audio FX > Fairlight FX, drag Noise Reduction onto your clip.
- In the effect window, pick Auto Speech Mode, or play a section with only noise and click Learn.
- Adjust Threshold and Attack until the noise drops without the voice sounding hollow.
- Studio users: select the clip on the Edit page, open the Inspector > Audio and turn on Voice Isolation.
Tips
- Learn the noise from a part with no talking; even one second helps.
- Bypass the effect now and then to compare with the original.
